Pretty Smart | Check out Open Door Shop, an urban (and urbane) registry boutique packed with curated pieces you’ll use day in and out

When Leslie Chapman and Marion Blount—who founded the Pin-worthy entertaining blog Open Door Charleston in 2012—registered during their respective engagements, they both saw a disconnect between their wish lists and what was in stores. So in 2013, the gals created Open Door Shop (843/872-6469) an online home store and bridal registry that garnered enough success (and praise from tastemaker blogs like The Southern Coterie) to go brick-and-mortar late last year.

“We’ve focused on tabletop pieces that can be used for everyday entertaining, rather than fine china and silver,” says Leslie. That translates to copper mugs, graphic Terrafirma Ceramics dishware, bamboo-handled flatware, luxe (yet affordable) gold-leaf glassware, and many more must-haves for modern couples with a knack for hosting.

“We both have homes where the ‘doors are always open,’” says Leslie, “and have found that casual gatherings evolve into the best dinner parties.” Here’s to impromptu (and well-appointed) parties galore!
