At a College of Charleston party their sophomore year, Chanel told a friend she thought Alex was cute. The pal passed the word on, and a courtship blossomed between the Atlanta-born gal and Boston-bred guy. The couple migrated to California while she attended culinary school, and they ultimately settled back on the East Coast in his hometown. After he asked her to marry him, they invited friends and family to join them for a wedding at The William Aiken House, where Chanel had once interned. “It was a no-brainer that we wanted to get married there in the city where we met,” she says.
