Winter Whites | Jane Ruffin & Justin Waluch; September 12, 2009, Lowndes Grove

When Justin Waluch watched Jane Ruffin walk down the aisle as a friend’s bridesmaid, he knew she was “the one.” Three years after meeting the beguiling stranger, he proposed, and the couple soon set their sights on Charleston’s St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church and Lowndes Grove to show their mostly out-of-town crowd some Southern comfort. “We wanted the entire weekend to be just like the city itself—beautiful, elegant, and fun,” says Jane, who enlisted Kristin Newman Designs to help merge the formal black-tie dress code of the day with more relaxed details, like pale blue hydrangeas and sand-colored linens. “The only thing we’d do differently,” says Jane, “is make the weekend even longer!”
