When Jay Kamath, an advertising creative director, landed a new job in 2007, he packed up and headed West on a cross-country road trip from his hometown of Augusta, Georgia, to Los Angeles. About 14 hours into the drive, he stopped for the night in Dallas, where he met Seema Vora, a native of that city. That fateful meeting led to a four-year courtship, and in August 2011, Jay proposed to Seema in the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont in Paris. Having fallen in love with the Holy City during a trip here, the travel-loving duo—who now live in Brooklyn, New York—chose Lowndes Grove Plantation for their raucous and emotional nuptials. Following their huge party of a wedding (which included full Indian dress, a change into black-tie formals, a helmet-born “groomsman’s cam,” and even an elephant), Seema and Jay honeymooned in Vietnam.
