There’s all kinds of luck tucked into this couple’s story. To start, Hannah met Jonathan on a random trivia game night at a random bar in their native Philadelphia—“His team never won,” she quips. And before they were engaged, the pair had scored her dream wedding site with an admittedly premature booking of The River Club at Oldfield in Okatie. (“You walk around and you feel at peace,” says Hannah of the venue, chosen for its nearness to her favorite summer retreat, Hilton Head Island.) Then there’s their wedding, held on St. Patrick’s Day, which Fox Events infused with greens galore. Even the cake was a charm of sorts with its own pair of hidden clover leaves on the monogram. Considering the pair is Irish, maybe there is something to the lore?

WHAT THEY RECOMMEND
• Pick ultra pretty flats.
Don’t cheat yourself of a princess moment, but opt for low-to-no heels as sinking into the grass at an outdoor wedding is no fun, especially when you’re the bride.

• Tell your groom to sync up … and stand out.

Hannah made sure Jonathan’s chambray suit complemented her pink gown and was lighter than those of his groomsmen’s.

• Transfer intricate designs onto your cake with sugar printing.

Printing their crest then affixing it to the wedding cake made for a clear image and colors that were less likely to run.
