April Flowers | Bridesmaids in boldly colored gowns blooming with floral patterns? You gotta see all this gorgeousness to believe it

Spring is a winning season for McKenzie Sorell and Greg Steinbock. They met as spring breakers in Key West, Florida, re-kindled their romance weeks later at the Kentucky Derby, and ended years of long distance last April with a fête at The Cedar Room. And while they’d privately tied the knot a year prior (Greg’s a Marine, so they did so before his first deployment), “We always wanted a bigger wedding with our friends and family,” says McKenzie. Bigger meant bolder in their case, so Pure Luxe Bride pulled together a vibrant color palette evocative of the season. Guests celebrated amongst blooms in fuchsia, orange, and violet, while an artist pained the couple’s first dance under a floral chandelier dotted with crimson and gold. Says McKenzie, “We wouldn’t change a single thing.”

TOP TAKEAWAYS
• Build your palette around a standout element, like McKenzie did with her bridesmaids’ floral dresses.
• Use paper goods to make a bold color statement.
• Make an airy space with high ceilings more intimate with large-scale chandeliers and tall tabletop
floral arrangements.
• House large centerpieces in glass vases to help guests keep the conversations flowing.
• Contrast a clean-lined classic bridal gown with punchy blooms for the best of both worlds
