All Hands on Deck | Paige Madrid & Scott Kegley, September 25, 2010, Magnolia Plantation & Gardens

After Scott Kegley proposed to his girlfriend of four years, Paige Madrid, on vacation in Mexico, the couple set their sights on a place that would be just as special for their wedding: Charleston’s Magnolia Plantation. “We wanted to give our families a piece of the Lowcountry since it’s where our lives really started together,” says Paige, who moved from Virginia to Bluffton with Scott. To realize the vintage-meets-Southern theme Paige wanted for the day, she acted as her own event planner and married ideas gleaned from websites and magazines to the Ooh! Events team’s local know-how. The result was a ceremony and reception that was almost half DIY and half pro that featured antique pieces passed down through Paige’s family. But the most memorable part of the day was having loved ones help beforehand. “Everyone had a blast!” says Paige.
