Megan & Brendan | Legare Waring House

It’s time for some girl talk. We all know how nerve-wracking first dates can be, whether going in blind or not, and we’re here to impart a piece of solid advice from bride Megan. When agreeing to that initial meet-up, forgo dinner and opt instead for drinks so you can make a quick exit if things aren’t panning out (or your bestie can call you detailing a fake emergency). That’s the dating rule Megan lived by until she met Brendan in May of 2016 when he convinced her somehow to grab some grub with him. Hours later, the pair were smitten, and a year and a half later, on Thanksgiving Day, Maryland native Brendan was ready to ask that question in front of Megan’s entire family. “He asked my mother and brother for permission just twenty minutes before he popped the question because he was nervous if given too much time, they would let the secret slip,” she laughs. For their Lowndes Grove wedding, there was a little bit more time to prepare and the couple booked Blythe Hill of Hill & Co. Creative to bring to reality their vision of an all-white, elegant wedding. From the flowers sprouting from the ceremony aisle to Megan’s super-chic Romona Keveza gown with detachable skirt to the couple’s choice of a dessert bar instead of a wedding cake (so bold!), this Big Day was downright Southern perfection. Shout out to Anne Rhett for capturing many a candid moment and then some!
