Kayla & Reed | Legare Waring House

Did you know we typically save our most blockbuster weddings to post on Fridays? It’s true. So knowing that, and that this couple got engaged in Italy (on a gondola in Venice, no less), and that they then wed at the ultra-romantic The Legare Waring House amidst a reception styled around the bride’s collection of blue and white ginger jars, and you know you’re sitting pretty to scroll, scroll, scroll. But first, a little about Kayla and Reed: Though the two North Carolinians are the same age and attended rival schools in a small town outside of Raleigh, it took a Tim McGraw concert (and mutual friends there) for them to meet. After the pair were a, well, pair, Reed took a job in London, and when Kayla visited for Valentine’s they took a trip to Venice, and then there was that proposal on the canal … As for how Charleston came into their lives, before their engagement, the couple had visited the Holy City and say they loved everything about. Kayla knew she wanted to return homeward for their nuptials, and the Lowcountry won out for its charm, architecture, and picturesque gardens. The Legare Waring House represented everything she says she was looking for, and thus their crisply dressed Southern wedding came to be, complete with the aforementioned ginger jars and more home décor touches. Ready to see it all, including the bride’s Hayley Paige dress from White on Daniel Island (let’s just say it. has. pockets.)? Have happily at it!
