Camila & Adam | The Dewberry

Puppy lovers Camila and Adam met volunteering for a local animal rescue group. Here’s the kicker: the volunteer opportunity was for the animal rescue’s grand fundraiser event … a calendar showcasing animals and firefighters, where Adam was a model for said calendar. Much to [literally no one’s] surprise, Camila was intrigued and we bet the calendar was, no doubt, hot. After plenty of dates and time getting to know each other deeply, these Charleston locals got engaged at Hampton Park during the infamous snowstorm of 2017. No snow at their Big Day thankfully as the two landed on The Dewberry for a venue because of its mid century modern style and intimate space, perfect for their 70 guests. Tradition played a big part in the nuptials, including a Celtic handfasting ceremony, where a handmade, braided cord (lovingly made by the bride), was tied around the couple’s hands by Adam’s identical twin brother, Aaron, sealing the deal for these two. As for this pair of newlywed’s favorite part of the night? To honor Camila’s middle-eastern background, she and adam were lifted into the air and female guests were given brightly colored scarves, dancing along with everybody else to a traditional Middle Eastern song. Don’t believe us? Check out these pics by The Smiths Do Love to prove it. Congrats, love birds.
