Swati, an emergency room nurse from Myrtle Beach, met financial analyst Brijesh, who had recently moved from New Jersey to Charleston, online. The two enjoyed a first date downtown where she showed him the Battery and the Pineapple Fountain. After dating six months, Brijesh surprised Swati with a romantic beach proposal on Sullivan’s Island, with a sign spelling “marry me” and rose petals in the sand. The couple’s two-day wedding—with the first night being the Indian Sangeet/Mehndi celebration and the second a traditional Hindu ceremony—was held at The Marriott on Lockwood Boulevard.
