After moving from Charlotte in 2016, Meg was introduced to Charleston native Matthew through a work colleague. The pair began exploring new restaurants together, calling it “a mutual love language.” On Christmas morning 2018, Matthew surprised Meg with a proposal at her parents’ home in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, and the couple eloped shortly after. The pair celebrated their marriage after two COVID delays more than a year later, renewing their vows at the historical Legare Waring House with friends, family, and their 14-year-old Border Collie, Lucy, in attendance.
