Kiira and David bonded while working as ICU nurses at MUSC, making a life together over six years that included co-parenting two children, buying a house in Avondale, and adopting a dog. Early in the morning on July 4, 2021, David pulled out a ring during a walk on Isle of Palms. For the ceremony, Kiira donned a custom pink dress, made in collaboration with local bridal designer Emily Kotarski, and encouraged guests to wear “sequins, feathers, bold colors, florals, and animal prints.” The couple tied the knot at The Oyster Shed at Leon’s, holding a family-style dinner reception on the patio.
