With rain in the forecast the day of the wedding, the couple faced a big decision: To tent or not to tent? After much discussion, they decided to opt out, and the gamble paid off. “On the day of the wedding, it rained in the morning—and the rest of the day was perfection,” Alexia says.
The bride and groom wore stefana crowns, a traditional Greek wedding ritual symbolizing glory and honor bestowed by God. A fan of all things antique, Alexia wore a set of vintage emerald earrings and a bracelet that her mother’s father-in-law gave her on her wedding day. “Having those pieces on my wedding day was truly so special,” she says.
Alexia’s yellow shoes were a ray of sunshine on the big day.
Guests enjoyed “finding their citrus” to discover their table assignment.
Wisps of fresh greenery and bright citrus against elegant pastel linens suited the Dewberry’s walled garden.
In lieu of a tiered wedding cake, the couple cut into a lemon chess pie garnished with fruit and flowers from the Dewberry’s garden, which guests enjoyed alongside a chocolate praline cheesecake.
The bride and groom reveled in a Greek money dance at the reception.
