Wine Not? | Let Pantone’s color of the year wash over your wedding palette

Since 2012, Atosha Barboza Bennett of Larger Than Life Events has fashioned a styled shoot around Pantone’s color of the year. (The Pantone organization produces a color “encyclopedia” of numbered and named swatches that designers, trendcasters, and more use to speak the same color language as clients—perfect for destination brides who work with Charleston planners from afar.) For 2015, the group named Marsala the “it” color, so determined by an uptick in the hue across several industries.

“I love that Marsala can be used virtually every season,” says Atosha. “For summer, cool it off with light tones like ivory or lavender. Tame it with cool tones like ivory and gold for spring or orange and browns in the fall.” Here, she shows off reception and attire ideas that highlight the rich tone of the wine-inspired shade.
