UP, UP, AND AWAY: Oversized flute-shaped vessels kept grandiose florals above tabletops—allowing for easy conversation.

PASTEL POWER: Event planner Luke Wilson covered reception tables with textured white linens.

SURF N’ TURF: Fish Restaurant dished up a three-course meal featuring an entrée of filet, seared grouper, and mashed potatoes.

DIG IN: Supper by Fish Restaurant catered to fans of both fish and red meat.

DAINTY DOES IT: Bride Anna told event planner Luke Wilson she wanted flowers subtle in color.

DRESSED TO IMPRESS: Bright ranunculus and cabbage roses accented the four-tiered, textured confection by Fish Restaurant.

GET THAT GLOW: Bunched glass vessels of varying heights held votive candles and casted soft light over the lounge areas.

GIVING THANKS: Guests took home a bag of grits, each with a note from the happy couple (which Anna attached herself).

LAST WORDS: “I loved spending time dancing with my husband and remember feeling thankful that he was the one all night long."

A FLAMING FAREWELL: The newlyweds, who honeymooned in Zambia and South Africa, exited amid a sea of sparklers.

What was planned as a gals trip to China for Anna McCutchen and her good friend Parmelee Miller became a vacation for three when, just before they left, Parmelee’s older brother David decided to join. And although, “There weren’t too many sparks during the trip,” Anna says of her and David’s connection, “it laid the foundation for what would become a great relationship.” Sure enough, once back in the States (and after she cleared the idea with Parmelee), Anna and David began dating, and less than two years later, he proposed in the mountains of North Carolina.

For their nuptials, the then-Atlanta residents chose Charleston, where Columbia native Anna grew up vacationing with her family each summer, then enlisted event designer Luke Wilson of WED to orchestrate the details large and small. When the Big Day came, pastel-hued blooms dressed Lowndes Grove Plantation in springtime splendor. After exchanging vows, Anna and David dined with their family and friends under a tent draped in sheer white fabric, then danced beneath chandeliers hung from oak branches. Anna’s most vivid memory from the night? “How beautiful everything looked watching the sun set over the Ashley River,” she says. “Everything was just perfect.”
