Shades of the Seaside

Both Jennifer Ferland and Matt Chapman are self-described “beach people,” so after Matt proposed in Debordieu, they knew they wanted the waterfront aesthetic for their wedding. “We searched the North and South Carolina coasts,” says Jennifer. “Once we looked at Kiawah Island Resort, we knew we had found the right location.” As the North Carolina couple was planning a destination wedding, they asked Cindy Zingerella of Engaging Events to help create an event infused with seaside hues: coral, aqua, khaki, and white. So while Jennifer tackled DIY projects like place cards and welcome boxes, the Engaging Events team created a cake stand accented with sea glass and arranged a ceremony at Johns Island’s Holy Spirit Catholic Church, among other details. The result was casual-chic perfection, from the seaside locations to a first dance from Matt’s favorite (and quintessentially Lowcountry) band, The Blue Dogs.
