Rosy Does It | Punch up the polish and panache with metallic rose gold
From the moment photographer Haley Foster laid eyes on the stunning rose gold Shelby Cobra convertible, she felt inspired. “I could envision a bride and groom during their getaway, as well as an entire wedding design that reflected the pinky tones of the car,” she says. So to bring her vision to life, she gathered up a team of Lowcountry talents and settled on a location. Lowndes Grove’s strong architectural lines and black and white backdrop proved an excellent contrast to the rich, colorful design. To achieve the look, the team used the metallic color selectively, in bold accents like the chairs and car and in small details. They blended it with softer rosy hues to create an air of Southern romance with a punch of sassy glam. From an inspired stationery suite to a table setting that sparkled with shiny candelabras and vintage glassware, enjoy this look at how Haley and team used this fabulous metallic color (and see her tips for how to pull it off yourself).

Rosy Pink Pointers

  1. Go bold with metallics. Don’t be afraid to mix pops of metallic rose gold with softer hues of pink and orange for a modern, romantic look. Use it in bold accent pieces, such as the rose gold chairs and epic getaway car here, and also in tabletop details, like chargers, votives, and cutlery. A little can go a long way when paired with consistent pinky tones in your florals, linens, or even bridesmaids gowns.
  2. Pair it perfectly. Soft hues of pink and orange gave this inspiration shoot a summery feel. Other fun color palettes to pair with rose gold? Try whites and champagnes with plenty of greenery, deep wine hues for a rich, jewel-toned vibe, or earthy colors like terra-cotta red or even emerald green.
  3. Balance the look. Since you can overdo it with rose gold, don’t go overboard. Less is more when it comes to the metallic shine. You can still carry the rosy feel throughout with pink florals, rose-colored glassware, and vintage rentals to attain a cohesive colorful vibe.
