DRESSED & IMPRESSED: The ivory tie of Tim’s J.Crew suit complemented Jessica’s Monique Lhuillier gown.

PRETTY PUFFS: Balls of bright white tissue (a summery, budget-savvy touch) popped against the venue’s stucco walls.

IT’S A FAMILY THING: Jessica’s cousins and elder sister stayed cool in strapless kelly green bridesmaid frocks from BHLDN, Anthropologie’s new bridal line.

A SILVER SALUTATION: Welcome boxes (accented with green touches) offered sweets, an itinerary, and a list of restaurant recommendations.

WHAT A BUNCH: “It was simple, classic, and appropriate,” Jessica says of her bouquet of white peonies, lisianthus, and sweet peas by Gathering Floral + Event Design’s Heather Barrie.

FRESH SET: White chairs and linens from Snyder Event Rentals kept the ballroom airy, while florals lent an organic touch to the brunch’s traditional settings.

A SUITE SET: A friend of the bride, Ashley McGrath of Quarter Century Creative in New York City, hand-fashioned the couple’s stationery. The mix of calligraphy and print lettering and the combination of off-white, black, and grassy green gave guests a first glimpse at the wedding’s palette.

PRETTY AS A PORTRAIT: Photographer Gayle Brooker snagged this black-and-white shot of Tim’s daughter Ava, capturing the traditional feel of the day.

LADIES IN WAITNG: Annalise and older sister Ava got comfy, patiently sitting before the ceremony began.

WALK THIS WAY: The flower girls, in champagne-hued frocks and headbands from J.Crew, were armed with mini versions of Jessica’s bouquet by Heather Barrie of Gathering Floral + Event Design.

MORNING GLORY: Jessica says the participation of Tim’s daughters was a key factor in setting the time for their 11:00 a.m. ceremony.

A TIMELESS TALE: Describing her and Tim’s first date, Jessica says, “It felt like we were picking up on an old conversation we had had many times before.”

GRAND ENTRANCE: “They were simple, but had a big impact,” Jessica says of the large puffs of white tissue that Kristin Newman created. “I loved them!”

EASY BREEZY: The venue’s natural greenery, the linens and appointments from Snyder Event Rentals, and the earth-toned stones of the Confederate Home’s back patio carried the ceremony’s palette into cocktail hour.

TASTEY TOASTS: Courtesy of Cru Catering, guests sipped on classic Southern cocktails, including salty dogs, Bloody Marys, and champagne.

LOVELY LADIES: Jessica and step-daughter Ava smile for the camera.

ALL SET!: Table numbers and brunch menus, which were crafted by Quarter Century Creative, matched the couple’s invitation suite, while silver accents added a classic touch.

TONE-ON-TONE: Pale neutrals, like the light yellow hue of the ballroom walls and the pale pink peonies in the table arrangements, added softness and depth to the palette.

TIME TO DINE: Because they planned their wedding in less than four months, Jessica says that opting for a morning ceremony and midday reception was helpful in booking their desired venues and vendors, like Cru Catering.

NOON-FIT NOSH: Guests enjoyed a brunch buffet from Cru Catering. Offerings included maple and brown sugar-glazed ham, eggs benedict, and Lowcountry shrimp and grits (the bride’s favorite).

SOMETHING SWEET: The dessert spread (which complemented the reception’s color scheme) included coconut cream and key lime pies, lemon cakes, almond-butter cookies, and pear-almond tarts by Jim Smeal.

PATTERN PLAY: The three-tiered treat from Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal mirrored the design and palette of the couple’s stationery suite.

COME (RICE) RAIN OR SHINE: For their departure, the couple’s 74 guests showered them with dry white rice.

FINAL REMARKS: Following the reception, the newlyweds rode up Church Street in a pedicab. Jessica’s most memorable moment from the day? “Just before the doors opened and I walked down the aisle, I realized I was moments away from a life with the most amazing man I could ever have dreamed of.”

Though Jessica Alig and Tim McIntosh had lived in the Lowcountry for the same four-year span, it wasn’t until they moved to New York City and met on a blind date that their romance began. Just shy of two years later, Tim proposed on Valentine’s Day 2011. The couple chose Charleston—a place the bride says “feels like home”—for their nuptials and, due to packed schedules, set a date less than four months away. Jessica came up with the vision (a clean, classic midday affair) and the palette (crisp, grassy green, white, and pale neutrals), and Kristin Newman Designs took things from there. The end product? A Memorial Day Weekend wedding Jessica describes as “serene, sweet, tasteful, and timeless.”
