Delphine Goes All-American | Find out what it means for you when a local stationery pro signs on with the big leagues

Big news, everyone. Charleston’s own Delphine design studio has partnered with one of the world’s largest stationers, American Greetings and their Cardstore.com site, to offer strikingly elegant wedding invitation suites in both letterpress and flat print to the masses. “They put complete faith and trust in us,” says Delphine owner and creative director Erika Firm, recently named one of Stationery Trends “Top 10 Designers to Watch.”

Longtime fans of Delphine, known for fresh, clean looks and designs that span everything from sassy chevrons to lovely lace accents and innovative graphic collages, will still recognize the offerings, but newcomers will fall for the myriad of options that are anything but cookie cutter.

Charleston gets a little credit for that. Erika, who wed at the Circular Congregation Church downtown, says her love for all things Lowcountry shows up throughout the collections. Check out “Meeting Street,” inspired by the ironwork of The Mills House and “Sullivan’s Island,” designed around the wildflowers that bloom on the dunes, for instance. And for those seeking printed goodies to jazz up showers, rehearsal dinners, and receptions, Delphine and Cardstore offer everything from programs and party favors to stickers and stir sticks. Curious? The store’s open!

Here’s the thing: Charleston’s in the tropics, more or less. And here in the jungle, it rains from time to time, which can put a damper on a portrait sesh out and about if you don’t plan well. The...
