Cool, Blue Getaway

Cool, Blue Getaway | Duvall Catering & Events invites you to chill out with a cool palette, crisp design, and frosty treats

Taking a cue from the symmetrical twin gardens where their two marquee tents were staged, Duvall Catering & Events embraced a clean-lined look overall. “Charleston tends to be very soft and feminine, which we love,” says event manager Isabelle Donovan, “but here we went totally out of the box and opted to play with modern designs.” That played out with geometric silhouettes (check out the lighting), mirror curtains (hello, shimmer), and sleek furniture (note the leather banquettes and tulip tables). Add a palette of cool blue and icy silver, and Isabelle says the vibe verged on futuristic. As for layout, one pavilion hosted the bar and lounge while the other held sweets and treats. “We always find it best to spread out your main attractions,” she says.

At a Glance
Décor: Paper parasols softened the straight lines of the bar back, while rentals such as lights and seating from EventHaus Rentals added a modern accent.
Flowers: The Duvall team crafted a living runner across the head table. Elsewhere, succulent blooms rested in mod glass vessels to repeat the motif.
Tents: Sperry Tents Southeast placed two smaller canvas tents on either side of a slender path; one held the bar; the other food stations.
Catering: Cake samples were offered in the form of mini cupcakes, and Duvall chefs made strawberry cheesecake ice cream on the spot thanks to a liquid nitrogen tank.
Cocktail: ICEBOX shared their version of the Moscow Mule (a “Windsor Mule”) in a proper copper mug with a sprig of mint.
