Styled Shoot | Hampton Park

Elopements keep cropping up with good reason here: not only can wedding venues be hard to come by in Charleston these days (especially during weekends and on short notice), but also can you blame a couple who wants to exchange vows then hide out a deux afterward in this most romantic little oasis? Of course not! With a runway wedding in mind, Kelly Harrold of Paper Meets Pearl set up this shoot to give you an idea of what a styled version of a Lowcountry elopement might entail. The couple (Ana and Roberto, who’ve been actually married for 10 years) headed to Hampton Park downtown for the imagined ceremony and sweetheart table time. (If you’re interested in the same, know you can book the copper-roofed bandstand there for “I do’s.”) When Ana, a breast cancer survivor who had dated Roberto since she was in braces, saw the photos, she posted them and captioned the shots: “10 yrs by your side with all the good and not so good and I would choose you all over again. Love you.” Melt much? Add that the leather jacket was custom-made by Kelly (yeah, that’s something she offers in addition to planning your Big Day), and we are plain smitten with this whole setup and think you will be, too.
