A transplant from Virginia, Weston “Wes” McAfee vividly remembers the first time he saw his future bride-to-be. Charleston native Dana Elaine...
In 2012, when a mutual friend introduced Holy City native Maggie to John, of Columbia, South Carolina, sparks flew between the Charleston School of Law students. Two years later, John popped the question in Maggie’s apartment, then surprised her with an engagement fête at her parent’s house on Shem Creek. On their Big Day, the Charleston attorneys exchanged vows alfresco on the River Course at Kiawah Island, before heading inside the clubhouse to dine and dance with guests. As festive nods to the holiday season, a string quartet played Christmas carols during cocktail hour and guests left with sweetgrass basket ornaments as favors.
