Grace & Nick | The Cedar Room

A couple who adventures together, stays together. Grace (from Washington D.C.) and Nick (from Greenville) met while attending Clemson University. These East Coast lovebirds went through two rounds of long distance, a 4-year stint in China, and a relocation to the West Coast, so you know they are made of the stuff that lasts. Nick chose their new home, San Francisco, to propose on an idyllic beachside picnic (there’s something heartwarming about sweet, simple romance, isn’t there?). Once engaged, only a destination wedding would do for these jetsetters. They had ties to South Carolina and visited Charleston in their travels enough times to know it was the perfect place to bring their guests together. Bride and groom loved the blank slate The Cedar Room offers; it allowed them to mold the venue into their “romantic garden party” theme. As Grace describes it, the posh urban space transformed into “fresh and springy, a bit overgrown but refined.” Their love for travel inspired other details like the Chinoiserie chargers and a unique postcard guestbook. Now, let’s talk wedding cakes … six to be exact! Grace and her mother tasted a coconut cake at a local coffee shop, tracked down the baker, and requested six different kinds of small, classic cakes. Because Grace and Nick decided to relax on their wedding day and let moments unfold as they were meant to … they wouldn’t change a second of it. (P.S. Our globetrotters did not settle for any ol’ honeymoon. Destination? Africa!)
