Allison & Josh | Wingate Plantation

Allison and Josh met at a two-stepping bar, so we would expect nothing less than a seriously Southern wedding from the two, and as you can tell from the photos, they did not disappoint. After Josh planned a dreamy proposal in Cabo San Lucas (on the beach at sunset, no less), it was Allison’s turn to plan their Big Day. The pair, who live in Georgia, fell in love with Wingate Plantation for its beautiful scenery and “true country feel,” says the bride. “We wanted dripping Spanish moss and dazzling chandeliers,” says Allison, “…colorful flowers, flowing drapery, and a tent overflowing with the warmth of family and friends.”And boy, did their venue deliver! All that mixed with the quaintly nestled location (Wingate’s on John’s Island’s River Road not too far from Charleston proper), the stylishly simple décor, and those utterly bountiful bouquets from Propagate Studio made for photos that we just can’t stop scrolling through. Today, the couple say they are consumed with “work, work, work” (he’s an Air Force pilot and she recently entered the world of emergency medicine). With such busy schedules, we hope they can take some time to reminisce on this peaceful pastoral celebration.
