On the first day of business school at Georgetown University, Sam caught Leslie’s eye, and the rest is history. The couple bonded over their love of the Carolinas, traveling, and a mutual belief that public policy should benefit everyone. Sam popped the question the day after they adopted their golden retriever/Lab puppy, Stewart, who wore a shirt that read “Marry my dad?” Their wedding ceremony, officiated by Sam’s father, was held on the lawn of the Creek Club at I'On overlooking the marsh. The reception featured Southern fixings like she-crab soup and fried green tomatoes. The couple left the party by boat, cruising along the harbor with the moon shining overhead.
