While visiting Charleston in 2020, mechanical engineer Chapell caught the eye of John’s Island resident and real estate broker Eden on Hinge, and the two kept in touch as friends for three years. After a chance encounter at a Kenny Chesney concert at Credit One Stadium, they started dating, enjoying countless days on local beaches and concerts at the Windjammer. Eden was surprised with a proposal on the dock of her family’s home in Beaufort, where Chapell was waiting with flowers, candles, a ring, and passing dolphins. Eden and Chapell held their wedding and reception at Old Wide Awake Plantation in Hollywood, offering guests a signature cocktail and “First Scoop” of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
