Katie Kerbell & Preston Decker-Fisk

You’ve got to love it when a third-wheel save turns into a first-rate love match. So it went when Katie Kerbell accompanied a girlfriend on a visit to Charleston to see a “friend,” and said friend brought along Preston Decker-Fisk to spare Katie from any odd-number awkwardness. After that trip, Katie and Preston kicked off a long-distance relationship that saw the two of them move to Washington when he was stationed there. “I could not live my life to the fullest without him,” says Katie, “so we moved across the country together to start a new adventure.”

After that move, Preston proposed, and the duo came back to where their romance began for the wedding of their dreams. Following a morning of primping while bopping to ’90s boy band tunes, Katie’s maids snagged their personalized hangers and dressed in hues of lavender and blush before heading to Middleton Place where the ceremony overflowed with blooms—and happy tears—thanks to the stylings of Loluma. Making their way to the Octagonal Gardens, guests enjoyed cocktails, cornhole, and breakfast-inspired bites. While we can’t pin down our favorite scene, Preston doesn’t skip a beat noting his: “When I married the woman I love—I don’t see anything else that would come close to that moment.”
