Knock 'Em Off | 7 great wedding wedding ideas worth stealing
TOP THAT
(above) When Sara Schwarz celebrated her wedding to Colin Jenest at a downtown club November 3, 2018, Tara Guérard Soirée handed out signature drinks dubbed “The Jasper” in honor of the couple’s pooch. The Moscow Mules each sported a custom-made edible image of Jasper. Now that’s a way to work around a no-pups policy at your next party.

FLOWER BOYS IT IS!
(above) Lindsay Brandquist and Corey McGrath have five nephews but no nieces, so flower boys it was at their November 2, 2018, wedding at The Historic Rice Mill Building. “They stole the show,” says the bride. And since the groom gifts his sweetie palmetto roses often, they were handed out to reflect “not only the love we share for Charleston but also for one another,” says Lindsay. “They were perfect.”

EVERYTHING'S COMING UP (PALMETTO) ROSES
(above) When a bride and her mother wanted a touch of the Lowcountry in their florals, they purchased 30 palmetto roses from vendors at the Charleston City Market and had the pros at Creech’s Florist work them into the bridal party bouquets. The ones you see here, says Creech’s Raleigh Beasley, are dried. If you want a more vivid shade of green, they need to have been made a day or two before your wedding. Best part? You and your gals can save the roses as keepsakes.

FAVORS-SLASH-TABLE-ASSIGNMENTS
(above) When bride Lacey Vigmostad wed Jason Giliberto on December 8, 2018, at Lowndes Grove, one of her family’s long-standing holiday traditions made a cameo when she hand-selected 150 different ornaments, each one picked to touch on something personal to each guest. Not only did they act as favors, but they cleverly doubled as escort cards when the pros from Boutique Planning hung them on two Christmas trees.

TOP TO BOTTOM TIE-IN
(above) When Amanda Simula and Jon West wed at the South Carolina Aquarium September 29, 2018, their planner, Alyssa Gore of Stunning and Brilliant Events, did something, well, brilliant, when she hung tiered crystal chandeliers over the reception tables. We love how they draw your gaze up, look like the bubbles that filled the surrounding tanks, and connect the event to the space. Add the tone-on-tone palette, and you’ve got a wedding that really makes sense for this chic setting.

A BOATLOAD OF INSPIRATION
Always With You
(above left) Groom Elliott Robinson lost his Charleston-born mother to breast cancer in 2009. To keep her emphatically present through the Big Day, he carried her portrait when he walked to the altar with his father. In honor of that side of the family, Southern fare was served.

Double Duty
(above center) Mac & B Events worked with Roadside Blooms to set up a ceremony site in The Cedar Room with a major floral installation as the altar focal point. After the vows, while guests enjoyed cocktails outside, ceremony chairs were pulled out and a cake table rolled in.

A Little Goes a Long Way
(above right) Bride Melissa Webb describes her style as minimalist, with equals parts vintage and modern. When she saw this lace hair accessory, it ticked every box. We love it for being an easy care, easy store item that could be worn on an anniversary and passed down as an heirloom.
