Katie Baker & Jason Myers

Sullivan’s Island
Talk about perfect timing: shortly after Katie Baker’s parents bought the house next door to their Sullivan’s Island beach pad, beau Jason Myers surprised her with an early Christmas present that included rose petals, candles, Waylon Jennings, and a ring. Jason had always envisioned a hometown wedding, and with the newly doubled space at her mom and dad’s, Katie thought: “Well, heck, why not?” The festivities began with a ceremony in the front yard of “the guest cottage” and Posey the pug nearly stealing the show as flower girl. Afterward, the party migrated waterside for cocktails and dinner before everyone crossed under an ivy arch to the original homestead for dancing. “I loved how the evening flowed from space to space,” says planner Jerri Heater of Ooh! Events. “Each vignette had a different look and feel.” And aside from the design matters? Katie loved how the home address kept things on the smaller side. Plus, she adds, “It’s really special to get married where you had all
your first memories.”
