Dress Rehearsal | Style blogger Hilary Rose Elrod (she’s engaged!) test drives the most stunning bridal jewels in town

CONGRATS, HILARY!

Style blogger Hilary Rose Elrod took a leap of faith a few years ago and moved to Charleston from Texas, hoping to continue her fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blog here in the Holy City. Not only has her popularity skyrocketed, she also met her fiancé here. They’ll say “I do” in town this year, and for all wanting to follow her wedding planning journey, check out her site for everything from save-the-dates to engagement shots and so much more. To help her celebrate, we asked if she wanted to join us to try on some of the most crush-worthy accessories in some of our favorite Lowcountry shops. Lucky for all of us, she said “Yes!” Check out the gallery for a little catalog of what she tried on while playing dress up as a bride, no less.

Here’s hoping you can find a love match in some of the jewels, too. (Oh, and that crazy-amazing ring in the shot above? It's Single Stone’s “Genevieve” 2.77 ct. marquise diamond from Croghan’s Jewel Box. Wowsah, indeed.)

We searched high and low for a wedding to close out the New Year, and what better pick than Annie and Matt, whose ceremony ended with the officiant (the bride’s brother-in-law, or in this case, we’re...

Here’s a little discussed fact: A great DJ can make (or break) a wedding. And the difference between a first dance that has everyone sighing and posting (instead of cringing) and a party that...

Here’s the thing: Charleston’s in the tropics, more or less. And here in the jungle, it rains from time to time, which can put a damper on a portrait sesh out and about if you don’t plan well. The...

Ok, people. Yes, you’re gonna love Jesse and Will’s wedding photos (al fresco reception in the Old Village? Yes, please!). But their proposal story? It might even beat the pretty out for best in show...

Lindsey and José didn’t start off on the right foot (he didn’t do a double-take when he first met her at Boston College, so she gave him the same indifferent treatment, and sparks didn’t fly for...
