Morning, dears. With all the beyond beautiful sites our Holy City has to offer on the wedding venue front, finding the winner for your Big Day can feel impossible or perhaps endless. But no worries, blushing brides. We are highlighting one of the most breathtaking spots in the Lowcountry to play hostess with the mostest to your nuptials, Wingate Plantation. Sarah Rickman, who both owns the property and just happened to host her very own “I do’s” on site (check it out here), gave us a peek into the charm of the plantation. From the old oak trees veiled in Spanish moss (they call that area the Grove of Oaks) to a lovely farmhouse with an included bridal suite, this venue is ideal for getting both prepped and hitched. And what’s even more? The venue boasts a whimsical tree swing, right beyond a saltwater pond, where Sarah says flower girls (or partygoers posing for quick selfies) will often swing, swing their little hearts out. Wingate reminds Sarah of special moments fishing and riding horses with her family as a girl, so now she chooses to share her childhood respite with couples on their most memorable day. Memories, memories, memories . . . Wingate is no doubt ready to partake in them. And with this historic property dating back to the 1700s, Wingate’s beauty has for sure stood the test of time. Just see for yourself.
