Matt, of Sullivan’s Island, and Karen, of Spartanburg, first met at the now-shuttered French Quarter bar Speakeasy. Three years later, Matt proposed to Karen on the day before New Year’s Eve. They were married in December at the Unitarian Church; a reception at the Mills House followed. The newlyweds flew off to an exotic honeymoon in Indonesia before returning to their home downtown.
