Charlestonians Ashlyn and Tommy met at a party and were instantly smitten. Six years into the relationship, the couple hosted an oyster roast for Tommy’s birthday, and the best present was when Ashlyn said “yes” to his marriage proposal. Though it rained intermittently, the weather didn’t put a damper on their wedding and reception at The Island House on Stono River, where the couple often spend summer weekends. The wedding party left the celebration on a friend’s boat, The Frayed Knot, for Charleston City Marina, as they were staying at a hotel downtown.
