Pittsburgher Ryan met Charlestonian Chrysa through friends while volunteering at a conference in Houston in 2017, and later went on their first date on Halloween. In June 2022, Ryan took Chrysa to their favorite steakhouse and proposed with a custom diamond engagement ring. Eager to celebrate her Lowcountry roots on their special day, Chrysa dreamed up her perfect Holy City wedding. The couple, who live in Rosenberg, Texas, exchanged vows at the Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Mount Pleasant in a traditional Russian Orthodox ceremony and held their reception on the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall.
