Originally from Saltillo, Mexico, David met Goose Creek native Elaine during an Ultimate Frisbee tournament in the Philippines. Although travels took them across the world, they continued to see each other, quarantining together during COVID and moving to Barcelona in July 2021. During a weekend getaway to Costa Brava, David proposed against a beautiful ocean backdrop. Elaine and David were married at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church at Marion Square, holding a reception at the Elks Lodge before returning to Saltillo to celebrate with his family.
