What a Treat

What a Treat | Wow guests with made-to-order gourmet cotton candy spun on the spot

Whether you’re a sweets fanatic or just a lover of all things pretty, it’s time you meet Gloria: the über-chic cotton candy cart that the ladies of Pure Fluff Co. (843/817-9031; www.Facebook.com/PureFluffCo) are ready to wheel into your wedding festivities.

A far cry from carnival fare, these dainty treats are made from organic cane sugar and plant-based dyes, and are spun loosely to create light puffs with subtle tastes and pale hues. Flavors range from sweet (pumpkin pie, salted caramel, classic, and basil lemonade) to savory (salt ’n’ peppa and jalapeño blue cheese), so there’s a nuance for even the pickiest of partygoers.

Another boon? As the brainchild of local wedding planner Arielle Stratton of Party.Love.Birds.—who says she’s long been a fan of the mobile food craze and wanted in on the action—the sweets are as stylish as they are scrumptious. White paper cones can be stamped with monograms, names, or your wedding hashtag, and each puffball comes topped with your choice of (edible) heart-shaped sprinkles, colorful glitter, or sugar butterflies. Gloria “herself” can be outfitted to match your reception, bridal shower, or engagement party’s décor, too. “We can add fabric to the cart to match your event palette,” says Arielle, “and we can hang decorations around the stand, too. You tell us your look and we will find something perfect.”

Pure Fluff offers two packages—one hour for $150 and 50 cones or two hours for $450 and 150 cones—and customizes bookings as well. Whether spun on-site or sent home as favors (pre-packaged puffs range from $3-$6 each), the fluffy sweets are sure to delight.
