In the flurry that was New York Bridal Market this month and the flurry of publishing that we returned to here in Charleston, we wanted to share a few of our Big Apple adventures before the memories fade. Hail to the power of photography for being able to re-live the memories to catch all the details we missed in the moment (sound familiar, brides?)! Beyond all the runway revelry—check out our galleries and Pinterest boards or the best of the best—we were lucky enough to bring a little taste of the Holy City to kick off Market thanks to Tara Guérard Soirée and a small army of local talents. A few seasons ago we joined with Tara in her NYC office to host bloggers, industry pros, our own boutique mavens, and more for a small get-together before the mayhem of shows took over.
This fall, she wondered about making it “a little bigger…” and when Tara says a little bigger, she really means it. Just peek at the shots by Lucy Cuneo and you can see how Tara transformed Ramscale Studio—a terraced penthouse event space with views of the Hudson—into a swank setting where LulaKate’s Katherine McDonald debuted her spin-off line of bridal gowns, Kate McDonald, and where guests sipped Bittermilk and High Wire Distilling Co. cocktails, nibbled on bites from James Burn Catering, sampled sweets from Grey Ghost Bakery, and took home Rewined candles and more. From last year’s Charleston Weddings’ bridal show style icon Mark Ingram to the Amsale crew and Nicole Miller’s entourage to photographer Corbin Gurkin and wedding writers Kim Fusaro of Glamour and Anne Chertoff, the attendees were as fab and fun as the trappings and goodies. Take a peek for yourself, and score ideas aplenty for your own bridal parties. And as for New York? See you in the spring!
