Coral Weddings | Let the Pantone color of the year dress your wedding
“I love the color coral!” says an ebullient Atosha Barboza Bennett of Larger Than Life Events and Design. “It evokes happiness and positive vibes, and screams summer.” The longtime planner joined forces with a crew of other top-tier vendors to toy with Pantone color of 2019 and weave it into this chi-chi brunch reception.

Picking such an on-trend hue—coral combines pink, peach, and orange—has bonuses beyond the feels, too; when a color rides the height of popularity, it means that all categories of décor, fashion, and more are for sale (or rent) in complementary shades. And that means you are never left wanting for a coordinating stationery suite, linen set, pashminas, or spools of ribbon. Neat, right? Enjoy this look at how Atosha and team dressed 159 Rutledge (a great new event space downtown) in one decidedly peppy palette.

CORAL KNOW-HOW

Be a matchmaker. Atosha aimed for a light, airy, daytime look with green and gold as primary accent colors to pair with coral. To make coral work for an evening affair, she suggests pairing it with navy.

Mix and match linens. Covering the dining table in a champagne lace gave the surface texture and pattern while also providing a neutral backdrop for coral taffeta napkins.

Go overboard with greens. Verdant, glossy leaves dominated the photo wall backdrop, the tabletop garland, and the topiary-styled tabletop arrangements. “It’s indicative of a lush, Southern wedding,” says Atosha. We loved the way it blanketed surfaces to create an indoor garden.

Get glitzy. Coral has a way of bringing luxe elements (like crystal) and finishes (gold) down to earth, so don’t hesitate to pair it with finery.

Work it into your look, too. There are coral lip, check, and eye colors to suit every skin tone. Add a summery glow when you wear it in your own special hue.
