Stacy & Andrew | Historic Rice Mill

“Falling” In Love

Picture this. You’re in college, on your way to class. Your crush steps out of the building door two feet in front of you … and you immediately trip over your shoes. You panic, because he definitely saw, and there is no way you can recover from this. Fast forward seven years, and you’re standing at the foot of an ancient oak tree while he’s on one knee with a ring.

Sounds like a Rom-Com right? Wrong. This is the real-life love story of Stacy Huckaby (Alabama belle) and Andrew Yocom (Virginia heartthrob). After falling in love at Auburn University, Andrew proposed at White Point Garden (home to those gorgeous live oaks we were talking about) on the tip of the Charleston peninsula.

First, A Charleston Church Wedding; Then, The Historic Rice Mill

Their southern love affair continued when the two chose the historic, Greek Revival-style First Baptist Church of Charleston as the backdrop for their vows. Maybe no venue could be more fitting for their dream of a Charleston church ceremony.

After walking down a candle-lit aisle, the pair celebrated their nuptials at the Historic Rice Mill. The waterfront views added the perfect amount of drama to this bride’s vision of “clean and classy.” Picture shades of ivory, black, and gray, alongside flowing white hydrangeas, and you’ve got a glimpse into this stunning Charleston wedding.
