Talk about a sign: when Cory Winn and her eHarmony sweetheart Joshua (Josh) Lambert went on their first date, it happened to be to church, and the sermon happened to be on marriage. “We were chuckling and clenching each other’s sweaty palms,” laughs Cory. The situation was comedic gold and led to a Big Day draped in that same hue. “I love anything that shimmers,” explains Cory, a self-proclaimed “type A” wedding planner who heads local event group Sage Innovations. For her and Josh’s reception at McCrady’s, Cory went for a haute palette of gold paired with blush and ivory that made for a sophisticated Southern celebration verging on glam. Neutral linens and lounge furniture provided a mellow backdrop for glittering pillar candles, glass urns, votives, and chargers. “The light coming in through the East Bay Street windows reflected off of everything that could possibly glitter,” says a satisfied Cory. “After 10 years in the industry, planning my own wedding was a real sweet treat.”
