LEAN ON ME: “I knew I didn’t want the girls in identical dresses,” says Abby of choosing bridesmaid frocks in three different styles and shades of grey from Amsale.
CRAFT CORNER: Lift a simple escort card display with natural wooden letters—found in any craft store—in the couple’s monogram.
HINT OF HERITAGE: "Dwayne is Canadian so I just could not resist having maple leaf images worked into the stationery,” says Abby of the paper goods made by dodeline design.
CONVERSATION PIECE: Tall centerpieces by Branch Design Studio added interest, yet still allowed guests to chat across the table.
METAL HEAD: Gilded accents outlined shapes and emphasized texture to make the tablescapes dynamic. For proof, see the hammered finish candelabras (topped with greens and blooms) and gold-tipped plates.
NATURAL COMBINATION: The Cotton Dock at Boone Hall Plantation’s wooden walls made for an organic aesthetic.
IN THE THEME: The bride dubbed the evening’s main hue ‘Antique Turquoise.’ Sara Hosch of Southern Protocol incorporated the color throughout the design, like with these napkins paired with the gold-rimmed reception china.
HUE KNEW: Instead of spreading the wedding’s blue palette throughout the ceremony and reception, Abby maximized its impact by concentrating it to the dessert table.
MEMORY LANE: To make guests truly feel a part of the day, incorporate photo strips from one of the parties leading up the wedding—or from the wedding itself if you hire a photo booth.
WELL WISHES: Chinese lanterns are traditionally let off during Chinese New Year celebrations and symbolize new beginnings—making them perfect for a wedding, too
LIGHT UP THE NIGHT: If choosing to release lanterns, canvas your surroundings to ensure the lit lanterns don't land near buildings or trees.
GILDED EDGE: Use mercury glass vases and votive holders in different sizes to add elegance to a rustic location.
MIDNIGHT SNACK: Late night? Send guests home with treats to keep them going till morning.
DO NOT DISTURB: Dodeline design crafted door hangers for guests to take back to their hotels.
