Learn skills and secrets from some of the nation’s top wedding professionals with three fabulous Charleston Wedding Week™ presented by Diamonds Direct workshops

Is your New Year’s resolution to learn something new? Or perhaps you’re looking to hone your craft. In either case, we’ve called on some of the nation’s top wedding whisperers to host three Charleston Wedding Week™ presented by Diamonds Direct workshops for nuptial professionals—or craft mavens—of all levels.

The Art of Being Published: Monday, January 23
Ever wonder how a Big Day ends up in the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings? Just ask their real-weddings editor, Shira Savada, who will be in town from New York City to co-host this photography workshop at The American Theater (10 a.m.-noon) with Charleston’s own photo guru Corbin Gurkin, who has captured dozens of gorgeous weddings from every corner of the globe (and been published aplenty in top bridal publications). Bring your questions—don’t be shy!—then kick off the week with us during a champagne reception by Party Slate immediately following the workshop.

Flower Power: Wednesday, January 25
What’s more fun than playing with flowers? Doing so at The Cedar Room under the kind, funny, and über-talented direction of Heather Barrie of Gathering Floral + Event Design and Anne Bowen Dabney of Charleston Stems. Learn why the two are the go-to flower queens of Charleston and beyond. These down-to-earth women recently founded The Charleston Flower Workshop (which this session is part of, in conjunction with Bliss & Bespoke). Their goal? To bring hands-on seminars to pros and DIY flower fans alike. Come to this workshop (9 a.m.-noon) to get schooled in all things floral—from arranging, composition, photography, and social media to event conception and execution.

Planner Summit: Thursday, January 26
Later in the week, convene at Cannon Green with perennial top-planner picks of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, Charleston-based experts Calder Clark, Lynn Easton, and Tara Guérard. This superstar trio will share their tips of the trade—tip-top tips, if we may say so!—as guests enjoy bubbles and light brunch bites. This is the group’s first-ever tag-team talk, during which they’ll share their takes on why our lovely Lowcountry is such a wonderland for the business of Big Days, where their far-flung events have taken them, and all the grand stories they’ve gathered along the way. As a bonus, Carats & Cake founder Jess Levin will host the event (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) and add yet another helping of nuptial know-how.
